Fiona is the brilliant musician who leads the sessions in our Little Song Stars project with women and their babies in secure accommodation.

Fiona has a huge amount of experience in education and in the charitable sector. She has worked in a variety of educational settings, including schools for those with additional educational needs. As well as bringing an enthusiastic, friendly and calming presence to her sessions, she is a gifted communicator who can establish supportive relationships with a wide range of people.

She has experience of leading a charity, charitable governance, setting strategy, and the day to day funding and finance needs of a charity. She is passionate about wellbeing and the need for safe spaces within communities. All this makes her the ideal professional to work with young mums and their babies in secure accommodation, utilising her communication skills alongside her love for music.

Fiona has made a series of videos to share with mums who want to make music with their babies which are available to view for free on our YouTube channel, a great way to create stronger social bonds and better prepare their children for the challenges they may face.

Fiona was happy for us to share these details about her, but because of the nature of what Fiona does for us here at YY&M, we cannot share her full name.
