Yorkshire Youth and Music is excited to welcome our new Communications Coordinator Wes!

Wes Foster has joined us one day per week, supporting our work in amplifying the impact of music education across Yorkshire. Here’s Wes to tell you a little bit more about himself:

I’m a Leeds-based practitioner working across photography, writing, and communications. My personal practice has always been interested in the relationship between text and images, and how we tell and develop stories. This work has always been interested in social space, culture and community, which led me to specialising in communications and marketing within the creative sector.

I’ve worked extensively in the creative sector, developing communications for organisations that prioritise access and engagement. I believe good communications are data-driven, tell the narrative of an organisation and can bring people together through creativity.

Alongside my role at Yorkshire Youth and Music, I’m the Communications Director at Lens Lab Project and lead on digital marketing for East Street Arts, amongst various other projects. My own work can be found here: wesfoster.co.uk

I’m excited to be working in the music sector again, having spent many years photographing gigs and events, writing reviews, and contributing to magazines. Music has always been a huge part of my professional practice, and I’m looking forward to helping share the incredible work of Yorkshire Youth and Music.
