Leave a legacy

With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of children and young people in a variety of very challenging circumstances, through high quality music and arts based projects and experiences

Yorkshire Youth and Music has already received kind donations from those who wished to leave a contribution behind them. We take great care in how and where we dedicate this generous support, based on the wishes of those who choose to support us.

Please contact our team if you would like to find out more.

Remembering AJ

In 2018, we were very grateful to receive a donation from the Student Executive at New College, Pontefract in memory of a student there, AJ
:

The student body at New College had organised a concert in memory of AJ and as a result, raised £507.26 for Yorkshire Youth and Music. Our Director, Gail Dudson, went along to the concert, and then visited New College to collect the donation cheque, and to meet AJ’s family.

We’ve been waiting for the right project to spend it on, and this term we found it. We’ve been working at Highfield School in Ossett and at Oakfield Park School in Ackworth. These two special schools are attended by young people aged 11-19 who have severe and complex needs and disabilities. This term pupils at both schools have been exploring music with one of our music leaders, Andrew Cleaton. They’ve been using drums, iPads, microphones, as well as some magical, wireless, no-touch musical instruments like Soundbeam. They’ve been exploring high and low sounds, long and short notes and beats, clapping games, chords and melodies, and finally playing together.

We’re very grateful to students at New College for their thoughtful way of remembering their friend AJ
