Latest News Arts Council England Grant to Support a New Training Programme We’re delighted to announce that Yorkshire Youth and Music has been awarded a £37,000 grant from Arts Council England to support our ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of community musicians. This vital funding will enable us to launch a new training programme, offering practical experience and mentorship for emerging musicians who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Our work focuses on using the power of music to support children and young people in specialised and often challenging settings—including those in care, young people in youth justice settings, and those facing significant social or emotional difficulties. Our experienced music leaders are skilled in creating safe, creative environments where young people can express themselves, build confidence, and develop new skills. Through this grant, we will provide hands-on opportunities for trainees to learn directly from these experienced leaders, gaining insight into both the artistic and community engagement aspects of this work.
