This month, we’re reflecting on Reunions, Returns and Farewells as this Summer seems to be a mixture of all of those things, with the loss of the totemic figure of metal - Ozzy Osborne - only weeks after Black Sabbath returned to Birmingham.

Black Sabbath – Planet Caravan

Following the recent loss of Ozzy, this track feels especially poignant. Dreamlike and cosmic, it’s Sabbath at their most meditative.

Oasis – She Is Love

Seemingly the go-to gig reunions of the summer, She Is Love is one of their gentler offerings. Stripped-back and sincere, it feels like a late-night return home.

Sugababes – Too Lost in You

Layered, emotional pop that captures the ache of love slipping through your fingers.

Gang of Four – It’s Her Factory

Angular, urgent, and political—this track speaks of roles, resistance, and the systems we return to, again and again as poignant on their farewell tour as when first performed forty years ago.

Martha Wainwright – Factory

Who’s factory is it? Well, it’s Martha’s, obviously. Bleak, brilliant and deeply personal, returning for the 20th anniversary of her debut album.
