As our Director, Gail Dudson, has already spoken about in this month’s ‘Music Makes Lives Better because…‘ article, one of the most famous examples of this is the ‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice‘. Here’s a crisp and colourful Sorcerer’s Apprentice by the Russian Philharmonic:

On a similar theme, Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Night on a Bare Mountain’ evokes the wild and dark night, apparently inhabited by strange dancing creatures; the church bell ringing for dawn and the start of the day restores peace and order.
