Paulette Morris is a professional singer songwriter, backing vocalist, vocal coach, and creative writing tutor, based in Leeds.

She has toured nationally and internationally with artists including Boyzone, Finley Quaye, and Peter Andre, and has performed alongside artists such as Lee Scratch Perry, Dawn Penn, Aswad and Third World.  She’s very versatile and works in an eclectic array of genres: pop, rock, reggae, soul and jazz. She writes and records her own songs, has been produced by William Orbit and regularly performs her own work.

Paulette has worked as a vocal tutor for Leeds College of music, Leeds Playhouse and as a music leader for us here at Yorkshire Youth and Music. She works with young people in many projects and different ways; she is Co-Director of Leeds Young Authors Youth Poetry Slam, works at 1^st Base after school music project (at Archway in Leeds) and at Getaway Girls / Live Well Leeds. She is the Music Mentor for the Leeds Black Music Festival Unsigned, mentoring artists across the UK and supporting their progress towards a performance at the festival.

Paulette is a great believer in the power of music. Her work with Getaway Girls won Leeds Arts and Culture Award of the Year in 2020, adding to a string of previous awards; the Voice Annual community Award 1998 for her music, Yorkshire TV Community Hero Award 2004, Leeds Black Achievers Award  2012 outstanding achievement award for Leeds Young Authors. She was nominated for the Inspirational Women of the Community Award in 2017.
