Yorkshire Youth & Music has been awarded a funding grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF).

This grant goes towards our core costs and will help us to:

  • Improve the quality of our work with very vulnerable young people
  • Develop new ideas to increase participation and reach new groups

It basically gives us the time and space to be even more creative in our work with children and young people across the county.

We are always striving to develop the quality of our practice, skills and reputation, so that the young people we work with have even better experiences, raising both their achievements and aspirations.

Specifically, we want to increase the number of music leaders who are able to work effectively with young people in the care system, through training and shadowing alongside more experienced staff.

We also want to develop our expertise in young people’s mental health, to improve the work we are able to do in this area, through training and research alongside mental health professionals.

A huge thank you to the Masonic Charitable Foundation for our #MCFgrant which will help to fund our continued work with children in challenging circumstances and in music-based education.
