Developing Your Skills
Between 2007 and 2011, over 3000 people developed their skills through Yorkshire Youth & Music
We offer training and development services to all adults who work in young people’s music-making.
Many of the people who train with us are not music specialists – they can be primary teachers, or people working in early years. We also offer training for music specialists too, including methods of music teaching like Kodaly method, or Dalcroze Eurythmics, choral conducting or opportunities to learn about music from different cultures – suitable music activities for working with Muslim children, for example.
We believe that we can have the biggest impact on music making opportunities for children and young people by supporting and developing the skills of adults who deliver musical activities.
Between 2007 and 2011, over 3000 people developed their skills through Yorkshire Youth & Music. They ranged from recent graduates who were taking their first steps in learning to be music leaders, to head teachers who wanted to be able to lead their whole school singing in assembly.
We find the best trainers from within the Yorkshire region where possible, and also use outside expertise to bring new ideas when needed, for all our training and development work.
We supply training specifically for INSET days or bespoke training courses for whole organisations – please contact us to receive regular information about our and other training and development events, or with any training needs. We’ll be glad to help.
